Flow maps



This is an example of a handcrafted telecommunications traffic flow maps for the European region. Flow maps show the movement of objects from one location to another. These maps can be used to show movement of almost anything, from intangible to tangible things.  

Stem and Leaf plot


A stem and leaf plot (also known as a stem plot) is more of a statistical form of maps. It used primarily to display numerical data in a graphical format.  Above is a stem plot displaying volcanoes heights.

Choropleth map


A choropleth map is a form of thematic map in which areas are shaded or patterned. This kind of map provides an easy way to visually see how a measurement varies across a geographic area. Above is a patterned map of U.S urban living areas in the year 2002.

Cadastral Map


A Cadastral Map provides detailed information about real property within a specific area, and are usually very public. Above is a map of a particular area of Florida States Campus. Students can openly access  this map and utilize at any time.

Topographic Map


Topographic maps are large scale maps that display both man made and physical aspects of a region. These maps are usually very detailed as shown above in the topographic map of India.

Thematic Map







A Thematic Map focuses on a specific them or idea, it is a type of map or chart especially designed to show a particular theme connected with a specific geographic area.

Doppler Radar


The Doppler radar uses what is known as the "Doppler effect" producing velocity data about objects at a distance. Named after the famous scientist Christian Doppler, this radar is used in almost every aspect of life but is known to most for its ability to detect weather changes.
